ANDY TIMMONS
Andy Timmons began his musical career at the age of 13 in his hometown, Evansville, Indiana. He gained international fame as the guitarist for the pop-metal band Danger Danger, with which he sold over a million records worldwide and produced two videos that reached number one on MTV. His discography includes 7 solo albums ranging from instrumental pieces, to blues, to a collection of pop songs inspired by the Beatles and Elvis Costello.
Timmons has worked as a session musician, participating in CDs of artists such as the legendary drummer Simon Phillips and Olivia Newton-John, for whom he was musical director and guitarist for several tours in the United States. He has also played with many other great guitarists such as Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Steve Morse, Mike Stern, Ace Frehley, Ted Nugent, and Pierre Bensusan, as well as singing stars from the '60s like the Beach Boys, Lesley Gore, and Gordon Waller.
Andy Timmons is known for his guitar technique, with a control of dynamics and expressive techniques such as bending and vibrato that make him unique in his genre. His musical style ranges from jazz to bossa nova, from country to metal, from blues to pop rock, without neglecting instrumental rock and prog rock. He has been voted among the best guitarists in the world and "Musician of the Year" for four consecutive years at the prestigious Dallas Observer Music Awards.
