THE COURSE DETAILS
The Chord Melody course by Amudi Safa is a comprehensive and detailed guide for guitarists who wish to elevate their playing style and arrangements on the guitar.
Structured in 10 video lessons in 4k and HD audio, with a detailed attached booklet containing all the transcriptions of the played parts, the course explores every fundamental aspect of Chord Melody, from its origins to modern applications.
It starts with an overview of the concept of Chord Melody, explaining how this technique combines melody and chords; then it delves into the management of the right hand and the left hand, to achieve a more expressive touch.
Amudi illustrates the chords and the management of the melody through the analysis of the beautiful "Yesterday" by the Beatles, providing practical and detailed examples.
The technique of "stripping down" the chords is therefore presented, making the performance smoother and less constraining, for greater creative and expressive freedom.
The subsequent lessons add melody to the chords of "Yesterday", using specific expressive techniques such as slide and bending.
The "fills" are introduced to enrich and harmonically bind the chords, based on the concept of the CAGED system explained in the previous Amudi course here on Musicezer, "Guitar Navigator".
The advanced management of the pick and fingers is illustrated through an arrangement of "Human Nature" by Michael Jackson.
Amudi also explains how to insert the groove into the arrangement, marking the 2 and the 4 with a cycle of 2 chords, focusing on the right hand to maintain a steady rhythm. The application is demonstrated on the beautiful "Eleanor Rigby" by the Beatles.
The course concludes with the use of the "Hendrix chords", integrating the fills to connect the chords in the style of Jimi Hendrix and applying the pick management learned earlier.
This course offers a comprehensive and in-depth overview of Chord Melody, enriching your technical and artistic skills. Amudi Safa will guide you step by step, making each lesson an educational and stimulating experience.
