THE COURSE DETAILS
Marco Vassallo will guide you to the knowledge of the piano, the white and black keys, the corresponding notes, chords, inversions, and intervals, but above all he will help you discover how to use them by examining iconic pieces like the theme from "Star Wars" or "Amazing Grace", learning to recognize and appreciate the emotional charge, as well as the technical and theoretical foundation, that brings these melodies to life.
You will immerse yourself in music, in its exploration, where even every mistake you make will be a step towards understanding and every note will be a story waiting to be told.
With passion and dedication, you will learn not only to play, but also to feel and live music in all its nuances.
10 video lessons in very high quality (4K/Audio HD) in an instructive, fun, and stimulating course, with all the supporting material necessary to learn to play your first musical pieces!
"You will not only learn to press the "right" keys on a piano or electronic keyboard, but you will do so with a full awareness of their musical value as generators of emotions, all under the careful guidance of a teacher who blends teaching and fun."
START NOWMarco Vassallo introduces the course by explaining the power of emotions in music, through the use of major and minor chords and communication through sounds, without words. Among the first steps is also the acceptance of mistakes as part of the learning and creative process.
Marco talks about the anatomy of the piano and its white and black keys, explaining the octaves and the importance of the acoustic perception of notes, inviting exploration of the sounds.
Focusing on hand coordination, Marco presents an exercise with a metronome at 60 bpm, introducing rhythm and musical timing. He emphasizes the importance of calmness, control, and adapting to the metronome.
Marco introduces us to chords, starting with the classic "C chord progression." He shows examples of how to play and connect them. He also begins to hint at something about the use of the sustain pedal.
Marco emphasizes the importance of the octave on which we play the notes, especially in the bass chords, to avoid typical mistakes of confusion between adjacent notes. Let's broaden the spectrum of played notes by talking about arpeggios, always keeping an eye on the speed of execution.
Marco indicates the difference between major and minor chords, transforming them using thirds. He introduces the value of "sharp" and "flat" and has students practice with chords outside of the white keys.
Marco emphasizes the cohesion between the chords in a progression and presents the inversions, encouraging experimentation and practice.
"If you continue to explore the use of inversions, shifting the notes to the higher octave. Marco shows us how to create harmonic progressions with the left hand and the addition of notes with the right."
"Let's talk about musical intervals and their recognition in the structure of a song, using examples like 'Star Wars' and 'Amazing Grace'. Objective: to apply intervals in practice."
"Let's continue to explore musical intervals, emphasizing active listening and their recognition in famous musical pieces."

MARK VASSALLO
Marco Vassallo is a young multi-instrumentalist from Genoa. He has been drawn to the world of music since early childhood, thanks to the passion passed down to him by his father.
He begins his educational journey at around 20 months of age, playing exclusively fingerstyle/fingerpicking guitar for about ten years; at the age of 11, he enters the Niccolò Paganini Conservatory in Genoa, which he attends for a period.
At the same time, two new interests blossom: one for rock music and the other for the world of keyboards. These two paths are pursued with time and daily practice; in particular, the study of the electric guitar continues and is refined through studies at the Lizard Academies in Turin, under the guidance of Tony de Gruttola.
As for the approach to keyboards, it is the result of a prior knowledge of music, which has always been analyzed very critically, also - but not only - thanks to the absolute ear, and, above all, to many hours of daily practice.
Last but not least, a great passion for computer science has made the "nerd" world of the keyboardist, made up of automations and MIDI, one of his main areas of expertise.
One of the experiences that has most significantly marked Marco is undoubtedly the encounter with the reality of Musicoff Young; within this project, he was able to confront extremely heterogeneous dimensions, both musical and human, and derive great growth from it.
