THE COURSE DETAILS
Following the first part of the course, Modern Technical Soloing #2, curated by Alberto Barsi, is designed for guitarists who wish to delve into more advanced techniques and take their performance style to the next level during solos.
The course, divided into 10 video lessons in 4K and HD audio, and accompanied by a detailed booklet with all the transcriptions, offers a comprehensive exploration of the techniques of phrasing and visualization necessary to become a modern and versatile guitarist.
In the first part, Alberto focuses on the harmonization of the harmonic minor scale and the use of arpeggios and advanced phrasing techniques. It continues with an in-depth exploration of the Hirajoshi Japanese pentatonic, examining its forms and use in musical contexts, with techniques such as alternate picking and tapping.
The following lessons introduce stretching techniques for diminished arpeggios, combining positions for greater articulation and creating complex phrases with alternate picking, legato, and tapping.
The concept of "wide-narrow" phrasing is then explained, which combines low and high registers to create surprising effects, inspired by guitarists like Guthrie Govan and Rick Graham.
The course continues with the incorporation of the second finger in tapping, technical exercises, and an example of phrasing on the pentatonic scale.
Subsequently, the technique of "mirror tapping" is introduced, usable in both diatonic contexts and outside, with examples of minor arpeggios and the use of dissonant intervals such as the tritone.
The following lessons focus on combining various boxes of the pentatonic scale using the slide technique, creating more creative phrases and fluid connections between positions.
The use of chromatisms in the legato is then addressed, improving the articulation and dynamics of the phrasing.
The course also includes two-string arpeggios in the style of Andy James, with note arrangements to create interesting movements and combine conventional and picked arpeggios.
In the last lesson, Alberto combines all the techniques learned into a complex solo, which will be your launch pad towards the future as lead guitar.
